TrainingOutsourcing.com today announced its third annual "Top 20 Companies in the Training Outsourcing Industry", a list based on detailed evaluations encompassing factors such as scope and depth of services provided, geographic reach, revenues, and client engagements. This year, TrainingOutsourcing.com also established two new recognition categories: "Emerging Leaders in Training Outsourcing" and "Top Specialized Learning Process Providers". | | "Our Top 20 List has become the most accessed resource used by training buyers to identify the leaders in our industry," said Doug Harward, CEO and founder of TrainingOutsourcing.com. "This year's companies possess innovative and unique capabilities and have demonstrated their ability to add business value through a variety of learning initiatives. Each company has extensive experience in delivering business process outsourcing (BPO) services and a clear commitment to human capital improvement."
Seventy-five companies were considered with each being evaluated against 22 learning processes and 13 business capability areas. Each company selected demonstrates strength and experience in several areas of learning services, such as content development, training administration, program delivery, and learning technology. From survey responses from the companies, the '2006 Top 20' organizations indicated that their revenues were generated through multiple solution areas. The largest percentages of revenues came from content development (35%) and training delivery (30%) services - see chart below for revenue breakdown of the 'Top 20'. According to Dr. Jim Hanlin, COO of TrainingOutsourcing.com, "The 'Top 20' list recognizes the leading training outsourcing companies for their high quality of services and comprehensive capabilities. All have demonstrated expertise and experience in managing major BPO engagements as well as creating a significant impact on the industry. Our primary goal for publishing this prestigious list is to provide corporate, government, and training executives with a directory of highly qualified, successful, and proven training partners. For the first time this year, TrainingOutsourcing.com has also named 10 "Emerging Leaders in Training Outsourcing" and 20 "Top Specialized Learning Process Providers". We hope that by identifying the 'Top 20' and these additional quality service providers we can help buy-side companies improve the costs and quality of learning services that they procure." This year's 'Top 20' list includes five newcomers as well as 15 companies from the last year's list. Although all of the Top 20 companies have a global footprint, four of them have their headquarters in India, highlighting the significance of offshore outsourcing in the training industry - especially in the area of learning content development services. The training BPO services marketplace is estimated to be approximately $1.45B of the $53B in corporate training spend in North America that goes to external training providers. In addition to assessment on the 22 learning processes within the Training Process Framework and the 13 business capability requirements of world class BPO organizations, selection to the "2006 TOP 20 Companies in the Training Outsourcing Industry" was based on several criteria including: Experience in managing multi-year training BPO engagements Recognition as a leading outsourcing service provider (OSP) in the training industry Capability to deliver multiple BPO training services Revenue generated from training BPO services Geographic reach Impact on the training BPO industry Corporate leadership talent Breadth of resources
According to Mr. Harward, "Our selection committee recognizes the growing interest in training outsourcing and the variety of companies providing outsourced services. We're confident that the 'Top 20', plus those selected as industry leaders in the "Emerging Leaders in Training Outsourcing" and "Top Specialized Learning Process Providers" lists provide a great resource for those searching for high quality, reputable organizations to partner with."
